This week saw ongoing movement restrictions and permission changes based upon rates of COVID-19 infections.

In Hong Kong where recent case increases have immigration officials are working partially from home, causing visa delays, the US and Kazakhstan were added to the list of high-risk countries.  Australia and Hong Kong also were impacted as Taiwan removed both countries from their low-risk list.  Japan has enlarged its entry ban with an additional 17 countries added, bringing the total number of banned countries to 146.

Malaysia has reverted to mandating the 14-day quarantine be completed at a designated facility or hotel.  Following the trend, the exact location will be decided by the authorities upon arrival at the airport.  Thailand has extended the blanket visa extensions for foreigners until September 27th, they were set to expire July 31st.

New on the blog this week, we have added an infograph on the new Singapore arrival protocols.
