Although in comparison, still not as high as you'd find living in a major metropolitan city in the United States. If you are able to live in a more rural area where you can immerse yourself in Thai culture, you will find more cost effective options.

Schooling

Public schools in Thailand and free and plentiful, but more popular and expensive. Options range from private schools and international schools to private bilingual schools. Most of these schools are certified and accredited.

Public schools are free for children up to age 13, though very few expatriates choose to send their children to public schools, opting instead for international or private schools.  Fees for international schools in Thailand are quite high, usually from 300,000 THB to 600,000 THB depending on the area and the school.
