Destination Overview

China, located in East Asia, is the world’s most populous country.

The People's Republic of China (PRC) is a single-party state governed by the Communist Party, with its seat of government in the capital city of Beijing. It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau). China’s topography has been described as a staircase that descends from west to east. The highest part of the country is the Tibetan Plateau, over 5,000 feet above sea level with mountain peaks over 23,000 feet, followed by desert regions, the Taklimakan, and finally down to the coastal zones.

Housing

Property Conditions: Properties are generally rented fully furnished.

Security Deposit – Usually two months especially for furnished properties. This will be paid by the Company if it is signed by the Company.

Long term lease is a minimum of one year. Companies prefer to sign leases with the end date in-sync with the assignee’s working contract end date so that the rent can be locked in during the assignment period. An escape break clause will apply if the lease is signed more than one year.
