Asia Quickly Catches Up with Vaccines
Singapore, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Japan and Hong Kong have all surpassed 50% of the population fully vaccinated. Almost all Relo Network Asia countries have reached a share of partly vaccinated of 50%. The impact is mostly felt in shorter quarantine times and differentiated treatment locally. The highly anticipated border openings have yet to appear, although progress continues. It is a slow, cautious and deliberate process.
Australia announced it plans to permit fully-vaccinated Australians to travel without exemptions and return with shortened quarantine starting sometime in November. More opening will come, but likely not until 2022. Also beginning November 1, all work pass holders and dependents arriving from Category 1 and 2 countries must be fully vaccinated before arrival.
We anticipate additional border relaxation and opening in several locations in the coming months. Japan is anticipated to begin a gradual easing of border restrictions soon. To help you prepare, we invite you to attend a webinar on October 22 at 10AM JST / 9AM SGT (October 21 at 9pm EDT) held by our sister company, Relo Japan and titled: “Everything You Need to Know About Japanese Immigration in 20 Minutes.” You can register here.
