The song may sound familiar, but it is being played on an instrument that is estimated to have been used for over 3,000 years. With a similar construction to a marimba or a xylephone, it emits a unique and beautiful sound.
The Dan Da as it is called, means “stone” (da) “instrument” (dan). It has a carefully crafted set of stones which the musician uses to strike with small hammers.
Vietnam is home to many unique instruments and we were proud to be at least part of sharing one of them with the attending delegates.
