Similar to much of the rest of the world, cases of Covid-19 continued to appear in Asia this week.

Japan’s new spike is already larger than the initial outbreak and Taiwan has removed it from it’s medium-risk travel list.  Prefectures and cities are re-instituting various states of emergency and cross-prefecture moment is discouraged.  We are also watching rising cases and new outbreaks in Vietnam and Hong Kong, hoping that their swift actions will bring positive results.

Thailand is permitting new categories of foreigners to enter, however a plans for a travel bubble have been placed on hold due to rising cases in cooperating countries.  Singapore and Malaysia are moving forward with two programs to permit business travel across their border.  Acceptance of applications will begin on August 10th.
