Several Asian cities were ranked highly for EIC’s World Most Livable Cities list.
Among cities ranking 80 points or higher, the following locations in Asia secured their spots on the list:
- Japan
- Osaka
- Tokyo
- Taiwan
- Taipei
- Taichung
- Seoul
- Singapore
Several Chinese cities including Shanghai and Beijing dropped slightly lower this year, but still ranked high with scores in the upper 70 points, per the chart from the Economist.
The survey, which was initially started to help companies identify where hardship allowances would be applicable, ranks locations based upon several categories including security, healthcare, infrastructure, education and environment.
The past two years have hampered the study as all cities dealt with rapid changes across all studied categories. This year’s report indicates the impact from the pandemic is finally waning.
