Happy New Year and welcome to the year of the Rabbit.

In Asia, we welcome 2023 as the first time in the past three years we have had open borders in all 15 of our countries.  It is a welcome development that didn’t seem possible 12 months ago when borders restrictions and strict covid arrival protocols were just beginning to lift.  The weekly Covid-19 update we sent for over two years ended only in May of 2022 as we embarked on new reports addressing the next set of challenges.

Transitioning into a new year is always time for reflection.  It is also a time of hope and great anticipation for what the next 12 months will hold.  Will the year of the rabbit continue to creep towards a more normal, happy and peaceful world?

The Rabbit has several characteristics that we hope will be reflected in our next trip around the sun.

  • Quick
  • Skillful
  • Kind
  • Patient
  • Responsible

These five traits could have been taken from the list of requirements for all Relo Network Asia team members.  Quick to keep ahead of the fast-paced changes of assignments, local situations and our industry.  Skillful in our services, our locales and at proactively creating solutions wherever problems are found.   Kind enough to truly care and patient enough to guide others through difficult situations in most stressful of times.  Responsible to take ownership and live up to the highest expectations of our clients, assignees, families and of each other.

The characteristic most frequently associated globally with the Rabbit is luck.  Some of us believe in luck, and some do not.  Either way, we can wish for and be grateful of any good fortune that greets our friends, colleagues and community in the coming days.
