Countries are still discussing “Air Bubbles” and “Vaccine Passports”, but there has been little implementation as of yet.

Last week, we shared China’s relaxing of visa applications and shortened quarantine time in Hong Kong and Thailand for vaccinated travelers.  Vietnam is having internal discussions to consider vaccine passports as a way to open its borders.  Singapore and Hong Kong have resumed coordination for a travel bubble that would permit quarantine-free tourist travel between the two countries.  While Singapore has not indicated any vaccination requirements, Hong Kong authorities have stated that only vaccinated residents would be permitted travel via the bubble.  Timeline is anticipated for mid-May.

Meanwhile, Cambodia has entered a 14-day lockdown to address a rise in cases there.  India has seen it’s worst day of the pandemic, reporting over 200,000 new cases in a single day prompting a lockdown in New Delhi and Mumbai.  India has also just restored the e-visa program for 171 countries.
