Relatively Little Dramatic Change

In some ways, the lack of dramatic changes is welcome.  It also means that there have not been any major border openings or expansion of visa processing.

There was some activity this week, mostly in the category of additional preventative measures.  Starting 1 December, travelers to Taiwan of all nationalities including citizens will be required to submit a negative nucleic acid test 3 days prior to their flight.  Arrivals to Singapore from Japan and Malaysia will be required to quarantine in designated government facilities and starting the 27 of November, with the exception of Singapore citizens and permanent residents, arrivals with a recent travel history in Malaysia must test negative for Covid-19 not more than 72 hour before departing for Singapore.  This change also impacts both the Periodic Commuting and the Reciprocal Green Lane Arrangements.

Local measures have been tightened in Hong Kong and Korea with extensions of measures in Malaysia and the Philippines.
